The Sony PXW-FS7 Mark II is a flexible 4K camera system that expands on its predecessor with two key upgrades. It adds a built-in electronic variable ND filter and a stronger locking E-Mount. As a result, the FS7 II reduces lens play significantly compared to the original FS7.
Broad Lens Compatibility
The stronger locking E-Mount lets you use most 35mm lenses. This includes PL, EF, Leica, and Nikon mounts, via optional adapters. Therefore, the FS7 II adapts easily to whatever glass a production already owns.
The locking system also suits heavier, longer cine zoom lenses well. As a result, operators can skip additional lens support rigs in many cases. This makes the camera faster to set up and easier to run solo on smaller crews.
